Generate Classic Drow Names
All of the names below come from the system laid out in Dragon Magazine; I just assembled it into an online generator. While the original article provided many options for female, male, and house names, unisex names were also possible so I've included them, as well. Some meanings may seem strange due to word order or lack of articles, and it's possible to generate the same meaning twice in one name. Feel free to adjust or ignore items to suit your taste.
Please note:
A house name can serve as a family surname or the name of some other group, such as a noble house or guild.

Ways to Experiment
When you generate names, feel free to play with them until they suit your taste. All you need for a basic drow name is a prefix and a suffix, but you can drop letters, add letters (vowels work well), or move chunks around. When all else fails, you can add an apostrophe between pieces. For example, if we generated Luatheltyrr (Bright scion poisoner), she could be Luatheltyrr, Lua'thel, Luatyrr, Theltyrra, and so on. This might inspire a character concept, such as a drow rogue who has acclimated to sunlight.
Gender politics can also influence drow names. In traditional Lolthian enclaves, males are probably forbidden from using feminine names but might use them in secret as a way to rebel and symbolically claim power for themselves. In a male-dominated group, certain prefixes or suffixes could be reserved for male children or all children might take on the the lead male's prefix or suffix. In an egalitarian settlement, drow may choose freely and not use gendered meanings at all. And there are other unique naming practices that can further enhance your drow names.
And don't forget: their names may reflect harsh values, as well. For instance, naming a child Haltyrr (Deft Poisoner) or Ilraun (Greedy Destiny) in an evil society may be encouraging instead of insulting. But poor Talra (Gullible Prey) could have been forcibly renamed after thoroughly disgracing herself, and she might be willing to do anything to get her old name back. Finally, some names might be chosen or given later in life, after bitterness has set in. Jyslara (Relentless Cynic) may have chosen that name after centuries of wry observations and terrible setbacks.
